Notes / History This pub (also called the Blue House), displays a sign bearing the arms of the manor of Ravensbury. The nickname comes from the nearby houses built for workers on the Surrey Iron Railway, which were all said to be painted blue. There was also a pub known as the 'Red House' one mile away (actually called the Gardener's Arms); the road between the pubs was a favourite course for horse racing. The timber framed building shown here is the original Ravensbury Arms; the current building dates only to 1906.
