| Notes / History | This shows the driveway to Morden Cottage, Morden Hall Park. Following the outbreak of the Great War, Gilliat Edward Hatfield, the last owner, gave instructions that Morden hall should be converted to a military hospital. Childless and unmarried, he preferred to live a simper life and opted to move into Morden Cottage. This was his home for the remainder of his life. Following his death in 1941, the Morden Hall estate was bequeathed to the National Trust. |
