| Notes / History | Shown is one of the high rise buildings built by the Mitcham Borough Council in the 1950's. Following the end of the 2nd World War there was an urgent requirement for social housing and this was one of several housing estates built by the Borough Council around this time . The Estate was located alongside the Mitcham railway line. Within Mitcham there were many gravel pits and part of this Estate was built over a reclaimed old gravel pit. |
