Notes / History A representation of Robinson Crusoe and Man Friday accompanied by Hawaiian girls by the Glencraven Dancing School of Balham. This was the first prize winning entry in the fancy dress/tableaux parade at the third Mitcham carnival and fete held on the 18th June 1938 to raise funds for the Wilson Hospital, Mitcham. Over 25,000 people watched the parade which attracted a good number of entrants and which was part of a seven hour long programme of entertainments and events held at Mitcham Stadium.
