The games were strictly for amateurs and prizes ranged from 5p to £2. The games included races for Veterans, Fireman, and Police, Postman and Railway Servants. Women's races included the Egg and Spoon race, and the unusual Ladies' Needle Threading Race. There were the usual sack, three legged, and obstacle races and a Tug of War between the Mitcham Gas Works and the The Rock Terrace Men's Club.
