Notes / History A photo showing one of the injured members of the public being carried into an ambulance following the explosion at the W.J. Bush & Co chemical manufacturers on the 30th March 1933.

Thirty people were injured, including four of the seven workmen in the factory, who were burned trying to put the fire out. The others injured were in Belgrave Road, which bore the brunt of the explosion - it was here that a twelve year old boy was killed by falling masonry. The injured were treated at the Wilson Hospital.
