|Notes / History||The local churchyard holds the funerary vault belonging to the Bazalgette family. This is the final resting place of Sir Joseph Bazalgette and a number of his close relatives.
Sir Joseph, who was the chief engineer of the Metropolitan Board of Works, was responsible for designing London’s sewage network. Towards the end of his life he lived with his family in nearby Arthur Road.
