| Notes / History | Wealthy residents and civic dignitaries pictured at the official opening of the new swimming bath at Wimbledon in June 1929. In addition to the main pool interior there were plunge pools, changing rooms, washing facilities and a spectator gallery. It was also equipped with a state of the art sound system, as the pool could also be boarded over to form a venue for dancing, public meetings, awards ceremonies and concerts. |
