Notes / History A water colour painting from the 1880s showing the NRA camp and the windmill at full moon. Each year the NRA held its annual meeting on Wimbledon Common and the Volunteer Camp with 66 officers was in the area north of the windmill.

The NRA camp was only one of many at the Annual Meeting. It was run with military precision and was known as the “The Lines”. Each Rifle Brigade had a Regimental Camp and there were further ones for the police and officials.
