Notes / History This picture shows how Cricket Green may have looked during the early nineteenth century.

Mitcham has perhaps the oldest cricket pitch in the world – the game is thought to have been played here since the 1690s, although the first recorded match took place during the early 18th century.
During its lengthy history, the local club has produced a number of county, national and international players.
