| Notes / History | Children from Ashtree Avenue, Mitcham, cheer the arrival of specially designed mugs and pens commemorating the Silver Jubilee. Many children also received a specially minted coin. Youngsters have been given souvenirs of important Royal occasions since the late Victorian era, however this custom has grown in popularity during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. |
