| Notes / History | Soon after the end of The Great War, The Urban District Council of Mitcham became forefront in providing Homes for Heroes and commenced work on a new council housing estate. This was while the land was still cheap and could be designed on the Garden Villiage Principle. A nostalgic touch was to the name, the roads, recalling plants from the Mitcham Physicc Gardens. |
