| Notes / History | This fine floral display was staged at "Oakleas," Tooting by members of the Tooting, Balham and Mitcham Horticultural Society. Mitcham shopkeepere and historian, Tom Francis, recalled how the Society's first open air show was held on land to the rear of London House, his family home and store ( now the site of Tesco's on London Road. ) The event also featured country dancing, "rough and ready" sports and a performance by the Holborn School Band. |
