Notes / History The 1914 Defence of the Realm Act took 200 acres of Wimbledon Common to build a training camp for soldiers and as of the 20th of September 1915 the public were excluded from the area. Occupation of the camp was expected mid November the same year but this did not seem to happen until 1916.
