| Notes / History | Local bookworms make the most of the opening day at Deseret Enterprises, a new stationery and book shop situated in London Road on the site of the former London House, home to the business of local man Tom Francis. London House was replaced by a block of shops and offices. As well as Deseret the site also included a Tesco Supermarket, which still remains, and other stores. Deseret Management Corp. (DMC), of which Deseret Enterprises are part, is the umbrella organization for many of the Mormon church’s for-profit businesses. |
