Platinum Jubilee
June 2022 marks a unique moment in our history, as Her Majesty the Queen becomes the first British monarch to reign for 70 years.
To mark this historic occasion Merton Heritage Service has compiled a set of Jubilee resources combining online displays, archive film, research material, puzzles, craft activities and recipes. Over the coming weeks we also plan to add a range of digitised material from the local heritage collection.
Merton Library & Heritage Service will also be staging a programme of Jubilee activities - you can find more details on Eventbrite and a small collection of films and reminiscences on the Merton Heritage Youtube channel.
We hope you enjoy our new Jubilee collection.

Can you add to our Jubilee collection?
Merton Heritage Service is keen to add to its Jubilee collection. Do you have photographs of local Coronation events, Silver/Golden or Diamond Jubilee celebrations, that you would be happy to donate / allow us to copy? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Perhaps you have memorabilia - a cherished Coronation book, beaker or spoon. You may have collected Royal souvenirs, stored posters, tickets, flyers or programmes from Jubilee events or celebrations.
You may have taken part in a fancy dress event, a local parade, carnival or street party and have stories to share.
Maybe you or one of your relatives has met the Queen, attended a Royal Garden Party or received some sort of honour from the Palace. If you have pictures, objects of memories that you would like to save for posterity, please contact:
Merton Heritage Centre Tel. 020 8545 3239 or email: local.studies@merton.gov.uk
