100 Banners

Women's suffrage banners

Do you enjoy crafts, or have an interest in local heritage?

If so, why not join our free banner making workshop to mark 100 years since British women were given the vote.

Discover more about Merton suffragettes and help to make your own piece of history. In addition to local displays, our banners will also feature in commemorative processions and gatherings across London as part of the 100 Banners project.

The banner making is part of a Heritage Lottery funded project by Digital Drama and links to Merton's Vote100 celebrations.

Workshop venue:

Merton Heritage Centre, 2nd floor, Morden Library,    Merton Civic Centre.

Thursday 8 February, 10.30am - 4pm.

The event will feature:

  • Practical banner making

Refreshments will be provided for morning and afternoon breaks. Workshop participants are welcome to bring their own packed lunch, or make use of Cafe Gusto in the Civic Centre.
