The recently completed Wandle Vistas project was designed to give people a sense of the landscape of which they are part, by turning the focus outwards from the River Wandle, to the surrounding area.
Through community consultation, a long list of views was honed down to a top 10 that tell the story of the Wandle Valley’s development.
Community groups and volunteers were engaged in field work to appraise the views and helped to create landscape character assessments as well as researching their significance using local archives and historic maps.
Hot off the press - we now have copies of the Wandle Vistas leaflet. This not only gives details of 10 panoramic views within the Wandle Valley, it also provides directions on how to reach and explore them.
