Celebrating 25 years of Merton Heritage Centre

Merton Heritage Centre event

Opened at The Canons, Mitcham on 23 April 1994, Merton Heritage Centre was founded to raise awareness of our borough's rich and colourful past.

25 years on and now based at Morden Library, the Heritage & Local Studies Centre continues to tell the story of Merton and its people through a changing programme of exhibitions, events and online resources.

This work has been made possible thanks to the support of other local museums, community groups, local residents and a group of dedicated heritage volunteers.

To celebrate our anniversary, Merton Heritage Service is staging a special silver jubilee programme combining exhibitions, talks, film, guided walks, craft activities, heritage workshops and reminiscence sessions.

Our full programme will be released at the start of May.

In the meantime, we would like to thank all our visitors, colleague and contributors from the past 25 years. Your help and enthusiasm has been greatly appreciated. We hope that you will continue to use our services and collections in the coming years.
