Wandle Fortnight 2020

Saturday 12 September marks the launch of Wandle Fortnight - a two week celebration of the famous river and its varied surroundings.  Organised by the Wandle Valley Forum, this annual event prides itself on being run by the community for the community.

The Wandle has had a major impact on the history and development of Merton, Sutton, Croydon and Wandsworth. This is reflected by the amazing programme of activities and events planned for Wandle Fortnight. These range from exhibitions and guided walks, to talks, cycling, orienteering and even activities for green fingered gardeners.

The two week celebration will be launched with the popular Mitcham Heritage Day, hosted in an around Cricket Green. The programme will draw to a close on Saturday 26 September with the Merton Heritage Discovery Day, a popular annual showcase for our borough's colourful history.
