| Notes / History | Sergeant Davis chatting to Road Safety Marshalls. Lessons in road safety were a regular addition to Saturday morning cinema. In addition to big-screen entertainment, and a tearoom, the Odeon had a sizeable stage area, which was used for a range of awards ceremonies and cabaret acts. The soaring popularity of television led to a decline in cinema audiences. The Morden Odeon closed in 1973 and was finally demolished during the 1900s. The site is now occupied by Iceland frozen food store. |
