| Notes / History | Mitcham's Mayor, Alderman David Chalkley, unfurls a flag from the sign of the new Pollard Oak pub. The pub had been serving Pollards Hill from 1948, but the original building was only a pre-fab. This 1959 ceremony marked the opening of a new, larger pub which contained three separate bars. It was run by Mrs. Lilian Esgen. |
