| Notes / History | Grottoes were built to raise funds for spending at the annual MItcham fair. These elaborate mounds, some up to 4 feet high, were constructed from shells, bits of broken pottery or old roof tiles, and decorated with flowers, mirror-glass and tiny dolls. |
