| Notes / History | Mitcham Fair, c.1908 A fair is thought to have taken place in Mitcham since the 16th century, when Elizabeth I visited the area. The Queen is said to have been so enchanted by the entertainment staged in her honour, that she granted a charter for an annual fair. Sadly no evidence has been found to confirm it. |
