Notes / History | Members of the Morden Air Training Corps (ATC) being lectured about wartime reconnaissance work. The telegraph keys on the table were used to instruct youngsters in the use of Morse Code. This was a system of long and short electrical pulses, transmitted by telegraphy and translated at a distant receiving instrument. Different combinations of signal were used to represent numbers and letters of the alphabet and enabled messages to be sent over great distances. |
