Notes / History | A 19th century stone drinking fountain was erected in Wandle Park, Colliers Wood, through private subscription in memory of Robert Bloomfield Fenwick (1835-1897), who had lived at Wandle Park from 1867-1895. It also commemorates Harry Pollard Ashby, his father in-law (an accomplished landscape artist and engraver). Both men were instrumental in the founding and building of All Saints Parish Church. Medallions of both heads were formerly displayed on the fountain but these are now missing, as is a feature at the top - the design for which is shown here.. |
