Notes / History | Ravensbury Park, which was opened in 1930, is on the site of Ravensbury Manor which dates back to the 13th century. Over the years it has been part of an important industrial area with Ravensbury Mill and a calico print works located there in the 17th and 18th centuries. The River Wandle runs through the park and there are riverside walks, gardens and a children's play area. At one time rowing and/or paddle boats were available for hire too. |
