Notes / History | Ravensbury Park is on the site of the old Ravensbury Manor which dates back to the 13th century. In the 17th and 18th centuries the park was part of an important industrial area with Ravensbury Mill located on the river bank at the western end of the current park. Calico printworks were also set up in the 18th century and employed 280 people here and at Wandsworth. The factory was to the north of the public park, just outside the current park boundary. |
