| Notes / History | Sidney Gedge lived at Mitcham Hall, London Road. A Cambridge graduate, solicitor and preacher, he was elected MP for the constituencies of Stockport and Walsall in 1886 and 1895 respectively. Gedge Court, a block of maisonettes in London Road, is named after him. |
