Notes / History | Record-breaking batsman Arthur Edward Fagg (b.1915) played for England, and Kent County Cricket Club. Fagg made his test debut aged 21 against India in 1931 He was the first batsman in first-class cricket to score double centuries in both innings of a match. This feat was not equalled until 2019 After retirement Fagg went on to become an umpire. This photo was obtained from The Cricketers Public House when it was closed in 2010, and it was captured on one of the occasions when Fagg visited Mitcham Cricket Club. |
