| Notes / History | This character, referred to as "JP" is thought to be J. Pillinger, a player in the Mitcham side of 1919. Local historian, Tom Francis, recalled Pillinger's collection box patter went as follows : "In the days of my youth, I bowled 'em and had some good knocks; but now I'm content to help with the rent so I go round and tinkle my box". |
