| Notes / History | Groundsman Jack Locke getting the pitch ready for the FA cup tie with Nottingham Forest. This was the culmination of the First Division 3rd round - perhaps the most famous FA Cup run involving the Tooting & Mitcham side. The local team took a 2 goal lead in their home game but Forest equalised thanks to a penalty and an own goal. The away game at Nottingham Forest attracted a crowd of over 42,000 people. Forest won the game 3:0 and went on to FA Cup victory later that year. |
