Notes / History | You can just see the shop beloning to Oscar J. White's Dairy, picture right. Many dairy shops were set in stylish premises, with colourful tiled facades. The interior might be similarly decorated with shiny marble counters to emphasise cleanliness. Some even had chairs and potted palms, designed to create a pleasant atmosphere for waiting customers while milk, cream and butter was measured out from pails, churns and giant china bowls to the rear of the shop. |
