Notes / History | The Plough famously advertised accommodation and tea for passing cyclists. The pub was demolished in the early 1930s and replaced by the Morden Tavern, which stood on the opposite side of the road. The Post Office shown here, picture left, was run by Fanny Adam, whose pet parrot kept customers entertained. |
