Notes / History | Shannon Corner was built where the new A3 crossed Burlington Road in the 1930s. It was the end of the A3 dual carriageway until the road was upgraded in the 1960s. The Duke of Cambridge pub can be seen on the right, on the site now occupied by Krispy Kreme. Raynes Park County Grammar School can be seen in the distance. The school was established as a boy’s grammar school in 1935. In 1969 the school was renamed Raynes Park High School becoming a boy’s comprehensive and then a mixed comprehensive in 1990 |
