| Notes / History | This shows the street shortly after its completion. The road had yet to be surfaced and was reduced to a quagmire during bad weather. Children had to fight their way through furrows for the long trek to school and delivery vehicles such as this coal truck ran the risk of getting stuck during their journeys round the rutted, muddy streets. |
