| Notes / History | The company were specialist book binders and one of a number of printing and bookbinding firms operating locally during the 1950's. They had a mixed workforce and were able to employ a number of women workers, whose patience and attention to detail must surely have helped with the work involved.. This photograph shows an operator gilding the edges of a book. In the 1930’s the company were based in Eveline Road, Mitcham. They were also involved in a copyright case in 1944 v Frank Smythson Ltd that is still quoted to this day. |
