| Notes / History | Born in 1931 Brian Close was an English cricket all-rounder. He was the youngest player to be selected for international duty, aged 18 and he went on to captain the national side. His on-field stats are distinguished and he was easily one of the most charismatic players of his era. He played for Yorkshire CCC, and Somerset, and he is seen here on one the occasions that he visited Mitcham Cricket Club. |
