Picturing Morden Photographic Competition.

Picturing Morden poster

Using photography, we want you to tell us what Morden means to you.

As part of the There’s More to Morden heritage project, we are launching a photography competition for anyone living, working or studying in the Morden area.

Your picture could feature anything from a favourite building, wildlife or green space, to the local skyline, the town centre, or even a street sign.

Merton Heritage Service has a wonderful archive of pictures showing how previous generations lived and worked in Morden - feel free to look at these for inspiration and see what details you can spot from the area's past.

It is also worth thinking about Morden in 2022 - what features could you photograph that might prove interesting for people in the future? If you had to capture one image of the area, what would it be?

The subject matter is up to you but all pictures must be taken within the Morden area and should be no larger than a 5MB file. You can submit your pictures as Jpegs or TIFFs.

Judges will select a number of images to feature in a two week exhibition at Merton Civic Centre from 17 November 2022 and 3 winners will be selected from each category.

Competition entries will also be added to the Merton Memories website www.merton.gov.uk/memories so that future generations can learn about Morden's history.
