Notes / History | This striking property was built by James.D. Drewett, a local builder, whose yard was at the rear. It was situated at the entrance to Killick's Lane, named after Samuel Killick, also a local builder. The walls and railings are said to have enclosed the remains of a much earlier Tudor property. Mr Drewett was well known in the area. He was Justic of the Peace, an Alderman of Surrey County Council, Chairman of Mitcham Urban District Council in 1916, Parish Councillor and Churchwarden. Ravensbury House, was demolished during the early 1930's for the erection of the Majestic Cinema. |
