| Notes / History | This picture was taken at a time when The Canon's House was in the ownership of the Borough of Mitcham. During the 1960's the Borough made substantial changes to the property and grounds. These included improvements to existing facilities and the provision of a gymnasium on the northside of the House. The picture shows the new entrance built in 1961 to provide access to the grounds and sited at a point that did not impinge on the front aspect of the Grade 2 listed House. |
