Notes / History Shown is Rawlensea House on the Watermeads Estate in Mitcham, built in the 1970's. Architects designed and built open plan housing and low level flats rather than the earlier unattractive high rise tower blocks built in Mitcham in the 60's. The new design was aimed at giving people a better quality of life and to alleviate some of the problems encountered with the tower blocks.
