Notes / History The King's Arms is mentioned in the Parish Records of 1787, and is traditionally associated with the Mitcham Fair as it is said that rents for the Fair's stalls were settled here due to its proximity to the Fair Green.

The original weather boarded inn was owned in 1790 by Thomas Bowyer, father of one of Mitcham’s best-known cricketers.

It was a Young's Pub from 1885 onwards, although the original timber building had to be demolished and rebuilt in about 1906 to accommodate the widening of London Road.
