Notes / History | The first British showing of a moving picture took place on 20th February 1896, using technology pioneered by the French Lumiere brothers. Showmen acquired projectors and toured public halls. Ruffles' Imperial Bioscope gave projections at Worple Hall, Wimbledon and Vestry Hall, Mitcham. |
