| Notes / History | Presentation of the Benton Shield at 2157 Squadron, Air Training Corps in 1962. The shield is awarded to the cadet judged to have developed and achieved the most during the previous year. Forces Cadet groups remained popular throughout the 1950s and '60s. Unlike their predecessors, this batch of recruits would not have been eligible for National Service, which ended in 1960. |
