Notes / History | NALGO stands for the National Association of Local Government Officers, and was founded in 1905. The union rapidly grew (and had become the largest British union by the late 1970s); at the time of this dinner, nationwide membership would have numbered around 100,000, though obviously the Wimbledon branch represented only a fraction of that total. |
