| Notes / History | Over 100 children attended the party given for them by the women’s section of the Mitcham British Legion. The event was organised by Mrs E Cull the Chairwoman, Mrs G Morris the Secretary and Mrs C Stanford the Treasurer plus helpers with support from local traders. Children had a “good tea” and were then given a present by Father Christmas and sweets and fruit. The entertainment included singing, a monologue, dancing and a ventriloquist. The Mayor of Mitcham Alderman E.J.D Field and the Mayoress attended. |
