As a single woman, living at home. she became responsible for the management of the household, particularly as her mother’s health deteriorated. In 1864, after a brief courtship, Sarah married Will Pierce and settled in West Barnes. Following the sale of the Rayne family estate the couple moved to Roehampton Vale. |
