| Notes / History | Edwin Chart with his wife Mary Ann Ball (1809-1863) and one of their four daughters. Edwin was a vestry clerk and surveyor at Mitcham. The vestry clerkship of Mitcham had been held by a Chart since 1760 and it remained in the family until the office was abolished in 1925. His son Robert Chart designed the Vestry Hall, Mitcham and was the first Mayor of the Mitcham Borough Council. |
