Notes / History De Morgan set up the Fine Art Pottery on an area of land leased at Merton Abbey. He designed and manufactured glazed tiles and ceramics for William Morris. Many of his pieces were sold through the Morris & Co. shop in Oxford Street. He made little profit from his tile work and it was only later in life through the books he wrote that he made any money.
